Fresh From The Box: Gorillapod

I am fascinated with tripods, I am even more thrilled looking at monopods. I mean, what's the point of a monopod if you've got shaky hands?

Anyway, I love bringing my tripods almost everytime I travel to snap photos, especially to shoot some self-portraits ready for epic Facebook uploads. But, it is a major hassle to carry around a pseudo-metallic tripod in a bus, train or anywhere really.

Finally, I've got what I always longed for: an SLR Gorillapod by Joby. Light, steady, durable, and freakishlingly bendable up to gazillion degrees.



All-terrain, lean, mean tripod is all you need for those awkwardly placed scenes and snaps. The best thing about it is it could hang from anything solid. Be it a tree branch, or a power line, take your pick.




So, here's to more fun shoots, to the delight of a traveler-slash-photohobbyist.

Pre-Nup: Sara-Teth

This lovely couple, who's been together through the stops and the detours, (and definitely will beat Kim Kardashian's 72-day wedded life) are taking this whole trip to the next level. 

Sara and Teth have been on this two-way street affair together, and despite the traffic jams and the hazards, their adventure just flickers with green lights all the way. If being caught in the middle of the rush hour is such a nuisance, they have been each other's kind of rush 24/7. 

Therefore, I decided for them to have their shots taken in the streets: with elements of reality, rush, fun, the unexpected, and yes, their own world. 

*FootNotes/Disclaimer: This is my first pre-nuptial shooting. I am not a pro, I repeat, NOT A PRO nor taught. I am just a hobbyist. And also, a friend. ;) Shots were taken all over London. With freezing temperatures and frosty winds of 1-2 degrees Celsius throughout the whole day. So kudos to all of us who survived the day! :)

A teaser for the 1st pre-nuptial shoot for my lovely friend couple Sara and Teth. We went all over London, braving the freezing temperature of 0-5 degrees Celsius! We had lots of fun, and food at the side as well. No, I'm not a pro, but I just love taking shots, and I was free at that day.

I made a teaser of some shots taken using iPhone4.

Hopefully I get to share shots taken by my Canon 550D soon. (Or as soon as my work permits!)

Distraksyon.

Distraction. 
1. the act or an instance of distracting or the state of being distracted
2. something that serves as a diversion or entertainment
3. an interruption; an obstacle to concentration
4. (Psychology) mental turmoil or madness 

Distraksyon.

Ano para sa iyo ang isang distraction? Panggulo? Pang-lito? Hindi ba pwedeng, maganda rin ang epekto, tulad ng pampasaya?

Naalala ko ang isang lola sa ospital. Hindi maganda ang kalagayan niya. Medyo malubha ang karamdaman. Pero, nung araw na yun, kakaiba. Umagang-umaga, nakangiti siya. Malumanay.

Sa kabila ng lahat ng mga nakakabit na mga tubo at mga linya ng mga swero sa kanya, sa kabila ng hirap ng lagay ng kundisyon niya, sa kabila ng hirap ng maputulan siya ng kanang paa pababa ng tuhod, nakangiti siya.

Sabi ko, bakit masaya ka ata ngayon? Mas okey makita kang ganyan ngayon, kesa nung mga huling araw.

Di ko inaasahan ang sagot niya.

Sabi niya, iniisip raw niya ang isang distraction. Nasa bahay siya, nakaupo sa sofa. Habang nakikita ang aso ng apo niya, isang kulay brown na jack terrier. Kasi tuwing makikita raw siya neto, tatalon raw ang aso sa mga kamay at hita niya, patakbo at tila tuwang-tuwa. Ang sarap-sarap raw ng pakiramdam at natutuwa siya na tuwing iniisip niya yun. Yun raw ang kanyang distraction. At dahil dun, nababawasan raw ang kanyang nararamdamang sakit, at di siya masyadong nalulungkot.

Lahat tayo, may kanya-kanyang distraksyon. Maaaring sadya, o maaaring biglang sumusulpot na lang rin paminsan-minsan. Minsan, sa bilis at gulo takbo ng araw, kailangan nating huminto at bigyan ng panahon ang mga distraksyon na ito.

Ang akala nating nakakasira ng konsentrasyon, o akala nating umaagaw ng panahon sa mga "mas importanteng bagay", di natin namamalayan na ang isang "distraksyon" pala ang dapat na "atraksyon para sa atensyon".

Dahil para kay lola, nung panahong iyon, ang distraksyong iyon ng mga sandaling iyon, ang naging pinakaimportanteng bagay na nakakapagpasaya para sa kanya.

Maging ang minsang pagtakas sa realidad ay maaaring maging isang napakagandang distraksyon.
