Jabba what? Yes, the Jabbawockeez came to town, packed Trinoma Mall, and rocked the whole place with combined screams, oohs, aahs, and love from the Pinoy fans.
Who, what are they?
Here's a quick wiki intro for you amigo:
"JabbaWockeeZ is an all-male California dance troupe who first gained fame by appearing on the first season of America's Got Talent, before becoming the inaugural winners of the MTV hip hop dance competition series America's Best Dance Crew. The group has made cameos in many videos from notable artists such as Daddy Yankee in "Pose". The group also performed with Daddy Yankee on the Latin Billboard Awards in 2009."
So there, now you got the info, now here's the lowdown.
They're invading Pilipinas! And yes, there are proud Pinoy members in the group. And they're ready to represent, touring the world, and invading Ayala malls here in the Philippines.
So I, russee, jen, chuch and ash went and braved Trinoma.
The Ad says it will start at 7 pm at the activity area, so we assumed that it is right to be there very early. We got there at 4 PM. And we were wrong.
Because hundreds of people came way way too early and gained better positions around the area, in all floors, in every possible angle! It was insane, the crowd sight itself was jaw-dropping, tiring, and very very much alive.

After jockeying for a position, stayed a couple of hundred feet away at the third floor, in front ot the stage, there we waited (and sacrificed).
I think it would be a whole lot better for them to do a show in a better venue, with a ticketing system, rather than a free show in a very uncomfortable place. But that's just me (together with hundreds of people in attendance).
So at around 5 PM, the Jabba crew entered the activity area, and the place went crazy, the girls screaming their lungs out, the place was electric. They warmed-up the crowd by saying their shout-outs, and kept a promise of giving the people a great show.
They even selected people from the crowd to do dance "battles" onstage with them! It was awesome.
And by 7 PM, the spectacle started finally.
The DJ started the show and dropped some hot beats to get the crowd started and to set the mood and the frenzy atmosphere. And the front act, no other than Billy Crawford. And boy, he too can dance. I said to myself: "That's Entertainment!". (nyeeeh!)
He started the show with a couple of songs and held his own with full performance level and great moves.
And within a few minutes, it began. And then my ear just buzzed. My eyes almost popped out. All I can hear is 100+ decibel screams and shrieks from all over the place.
The Jabbawockeez is finally here, onstage. Every beat and pop they wowed the crowd, and it can be similar to a poetry in motion, as they move and grind as a crew. They did their popular numbers, such as the song "Apologize". And they, together with Billy Crawford, paid homage to the King of Pop, dancing to his tunes as well.
One of my personal faves is when they did a "dialogue" part, when they acted out with an audio, which matched well with their "mime-like" garb. And afterwards, they did a bit of Beyonce's "Single Ladies." Oh yes, and the crowd loved it!
And by 8 PM, it was over, the Jabbawockeez stamped their mark on Trinoma, and the crowd loved it!
Despite all the sweat, the fatigue, the cramps, the jousting for position, risk for earbleed, it was all worth it. Seriously!
Thank you jabbawockeez! Go Pinoy!
